Coral Bay Nickel Corporation (CBNC) is a Hydrometallurgical Processing Plant (HPP) located in Rio Tuba, Bataraza, Palawan. Its HPP Line 1 Project was established in 2002 and started operating commercially in 2005. With favorable developments in the world market for nickel,  CBNC embarked on the construction of the HPP Line 2 Project in 2007 and started operating commercially in 2009 with an initial investment amount of about US$ 500 million. 

 

CBNC operates a hydrometallurgical processing plant that uses the process of High-Pressure Acid Leaching that can effectively and efficiently convert low-grade nickel lateritic ores into Nickel and Cobalt Mixed Sulfide. This mixed sulfide is an intermediate product including nickel and cobalt that is further refined to be used as valuable components like special steels, electric materials, and battery materials.
